When you’ve got some blackheads on your nose, you’ll probably want to get rid of those. A good way to get this done is by using pore strips. Those sticky white strips will suck the dirt right out of your pores, leaving you with a clean nose, or any other part of the face where you have blackheads. But did you know you can also make those pore strips yourself?

What you’ll need to make pore strips is gelatin and some milk. Here I’m using gelatin leaves, but if you have gelatin powder, that’s even better. I couldn’t find that so I make do with gelatin leaves.

first of all, if you, like me, are using gelatin leaves for these pore strips, you have to let the leaves soak first. Fill a bowl with some cold water and soak the leaves in the water until they get soft. When the leaves are soft, squeeze out the excess water. (If you are using gelatin powder, you can skip this step.)

Now add two teaspoons of milk to the gelatin leaves, and try to mix this best as you can. It doesn’t matter if you can’t get them completely mixed up, it will be fine either way. (If you are using gelatin powder, mix up the two teaspoons of milk with two teaspoons of powder. This mixture should not be too liquid)

Put the mixture in the microwave, and heat it for 20 seconds. Now the gelatin and the milk should be a uniform mixture with a glue-like substance. Stir trough the mixture one more time so it’s mixed up nicely and there are no lumps. Now your homemade pore strips are ready for use.

To use these pore strips, start off with a clean face. First run a washcloth under a hot tab. Press this warm washcloth to your nose to open up the pores. This way the pore strips will work better. Wet your nose and use a clean brush to apply the mixture to your nose. Let this mixture dry on your nose. When the layer of pore strip is dry, you can peel it off. Now you have a clean, blackhead-free nose.
